Finspector Wins Cambridge10’s 2026 AI Entrepreneurial Symposium at the Oxford and Cambridge Club

Six Cambridge-rooted AI ventures competed before a distinguished panel of investors and technologists in London; Finspector’s AI-powered regtech platform took home first prize.

Finspector, an AI-powered regulatory technology platform that automates compliance review of financial promotions, has been named the winner of Cambridge10’s 2026 AI Entrepreneurial Symposium, one of the most prestigious pitch competitions in the Cambridge alumni ecosystem.

The event took place on the evening of Monday, 11 May at the Oxford and Cambridge Club, 71 Pall Mall, London, bringing together six exceptional finalist teams, a prestigious judging panel drawn from the worlds of venture capital, institutional investment, banking, and applied AI, and a sold-out audience of Cambridge founders, alumni, and innovation community members.

Co-founded by Philip Clements and Dr. Giovanni Bandi, Finspector impressed judges across all five scoring dimensions with its timely and technically sophisticated response to the mounting regulatory burden on financial services marketing. The platform enables scalable, compliant marketing through real-time automated checks and improved auditability, a proposition whose commercial urgency was not lost on a panel well-versed in the demands of financial regulation.

“It’s amazing how many AI start-ups are out there doing such a multitude of different things,” said Philip Clements following the win. “It’s been wonderful to hear from all the other founders and learn about their journeys.”

An Evening of Exceptional AI Entrepreneurship

Cambridge10’s President Aki Chan opened the evening with remarks that set a tone of purpose and ambition. “Tonight, let us celebrate not just the technology, but the human courage behind it,” she told the audience. “You cannot control whether the world is ready for your idea, but you can control the quality of your thinking, the integrity of your purpose, and the courage of your next step.”

From 19:45, each of the six finalist teams delivered a focused five-minute pitch followed by a rigorous Q&A session with the judging panel. The standard was exceptional throughout.

The Chair, co-founded by Charlotte Saunter and Jamie Saunter, opened proceedings with a bold vision for AI-powered dubbing and personalised content discovery on a global independent streaming platform.

VocaLoci, developed by Syed Muhammad Sarim Gillani, Syed Muhammad Shahzaib Haider, Syed Muhammad Shahmeer Haider, and Dr. Milla Kibble, presented a real-time AI communication support tool for people who stutter, using personalised speech modelling and language AI to provide adaptive assistance to a condition affecting an estimated 70 million people worldwide.

Glen.ai, founded by Yash Sewpaul, introduced the first integrated AI-powered surgical planning platform for anterior shoulder instability, combining Bayesian outcome predictions with interactive 3D visualisation.

Satorus Group, led by Jack Alderman, Beth Martin-Board, Elsa Hu, and Harry Alderman, outlined their suite of autonomous AI agents for intelligence investigations spanning geopolitics, counterterrorism, law enforcement, and supply chain risk.

Moola, co-founded by Linda Du and Susan Ren, demonstrated an AI-driven financial planning platform tailored to millennials, built around behavioural insights and personalised recommendations.

Finspector rounded out the pitches with a timely response to the growing regulatory burden on financial promotions through automated real-time compliance review  and ultimately took home the top prize.

“What made this symposium extraordinary wasn’t just the technology; it was the calibre of minds in the room. At the University of Cambridge, ideas rarely stay theoretical for long; they quickly become companies, research, and global impact.”

– Violetta Vedeneeva, Vice President, Cambridge10
