Dubai to Host Global Project Management Forum in 2027

Dubai will host the 12th Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) from January 10 to 13, 2027, bringing together government leaders, business executives and project management specialists from the UAE and around the world.

The four-day forum will be held under the theme “From Vision to Impact”, with discussions centred on how technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability and stronger crisis preparedness can help turn major plans into projects with measurable results.

Main Focus

The 2027 edition will examine the changing role of project management as governments and businesses take on increasingly complex projects.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is organising the forum with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Emaar Properties and the Project Management Institute (PMI). The event will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The programme will look at how organisations can use digital transformation, AI and data-driven approaches while also building sustainable infrastructure and preparing for unexpected disruptions.

Turning Plans Into Results

The theme “From Vision to Impact” reflects the forum’s focus on moving beyond ideas and plans towards effective delivery and measurable outcomes.

RTA Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors Mattar Al Tayer said the approach involves clear vision, sound planning, efficient execution and measuring how projects affect people and society.

The forum has developed into an international platform for sharing project management knowledge and experience. Previous editions have attracted thousands of participants and hundreds of experts from different countries.

Four Key Areas of Discussion

The 12th edition will be organised around four main themes and 12 specialised topics, covering technology, sustainable development, modern project management practices and organisational resilience.

1. Future Trends and Technology

The first theme will explore the impact of digital transformation, innovation and data-driven decision-making on the way projects are planned and delivered.

Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are expected to feature prominently as organisations look for faster and more informed ways to manage complex projects.

2. Sustainable Communities

Sustainability will be another major part of the programme, with discussions focusing on smart cities, sustainable infrastructure and long-term economic and social development.

The sessions are expected to consider how future projects can respond to population growth and changing urban needs while making efficient use of resources and supporting quality of life.

3. Future of Project Management

The forum will also examine how the project management profession is changing as AI, automation and digital tools become more widely adopted.

Discussions will look at how these technologies can support productivity, coordination, decision-making and project delivery, while flexible management approaches can help organisations respond to changing requirements.

4. Business Continuity

The fourth theme will focus on how organisations can prepare for disruptions, risks and crises.

Risk assessment, crisis preparedness, leadership and decision-making will form part of the discussions, with an emphasis on maintaining essential operations when unexpected challenges affect projects or organisations.

International Role

The Dubai International Project Management Forum has been held since 2014 and has established itself as a platform for international knowledge exchange in project and programme management. The 2027 edition is expected to continue that role by bringing together public- and private-sector leaders, specialists and international experts.

The forum’s focus on AI, sustainability, technology and resilience also reflects the growing need for project managers to balance innovation with practical delivery. Its 2027 programme will place particular emphasis on turning new ideas and management approaches into projects that deliver lasting economic and social value.
